The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) announced that the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R350 grant website is back online. This comes after the agency was conducting maintenance over the past weekend.

Sassa explained that the website was down due to technical challenges. They added that technicians were working to resolve the issues.

SRD grant applicants and beneficiaries will now be able to resume activities on the website. These activities include: making applications for the SRD grant, checking SRD grant status, checking grant payment dates and reasons as to why grant applications were rejected.

It's important to note that clients will be required to confirm their applications every three months.

Sassa has reminded clients whose SRD grant applications were rejected that the agency no longer deals with R350 grant appeals. Appeals are now handled by the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA).
