What Happens Next?

Understanding Your Matric Results

A strong matric result can open doors to various tertiary education opportunities. Here's a breakdown of the different types of matric passes:

  • Bachelor's Pass: Requires a minimum of 50% in five designated subjects, including Life Orientation.
  • Diploma Pass: Requires a minimum of 40% in five designated subjects, including Life Orientation.
  • Higher Certificate: Requires a minimum of 40% in Home Language and specific subject requirements.

If you didn't achieve the desired results, don't despair. There are opportunities to rewrite the exams in May/June 2025. Registrations for the May/June exams are now open and will close on February 7, 2025.
