Thousands of Independent Examinations Board (IEB) learners in South Africa eagerly await the release of their 2024 matric results. The exams commenced on 10 September and concluded on 28 November, with approximately 13,250 candidates participating.
When Will IEB Matric Results Be Released?
The IEB has confirmed that the 2024 matric results will be made available to candidates on 13 January 2025, pending approval from Umalusi.
What if I'm Not Satisfied with My Results?
Candidates who are unhappy with their results can request a remark. Applications for remarking close on 31 January, 2025, and the remark results will be released on 1 March, 2025.
If a rewrite is necessary, the next opportunity will be in May/June 2025. Applications for the May 2025 rewrite will be open from 1 March to 14 March, 2025.
How to Check Your IEB Matric Results
- School Notification: Schools will receive the results directly from the IEB and distribute them to their respective candidates.
- Online Access: Results will be available for viewing on the official IEB website.
- SMS Results:
- If the IEB has your cellphone number, results will be automatically sent via SMS.
- To register for SMS results, send an SMS to 35135 with the following format: "Results (your examination number) (your DOB yyyymmdd)".
- You will receive a confirmation message and your results on the release date.
The official certificate/statement of results, issued by Umalusi, will be sent to your school in April following the release of the matric results.
