The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has approved more than 7 million Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant applications. The SRD grant, commonly referred to as the R350 grant, serves as an important form of financial support for unemployed people in the country.
Sassa has opened up several communication channels which applicants and beneficiaries of the R350 use if they have any queries related to the grant.
Sassa has a toll-free call centre which you can call at 0800 60 10 11. Clients will need to select 1 after calling and follow the prompts that best match their enquiry.
You can also send an email to grantenquiries@sassa.gov.za
Sassa advised clients to include their ID numbers in the email which allows them to identify and contact clients quickly.
Should there be issues with the Sassa helpline, you can contact Kenneth Baloyi, Sassa's contact centre manager. He can be reached by calling 079 308 1033 or sending an email to kennethba@sassa.gov.za
The SRD website, which can be found at https://srd.sassa.gov.za is a platform especially used for the R350 grant.
This R350 grant website allows clients to complete several tasks related to the grant. These tasks include applying for the R350 grant, updating R350 grant information including contact and bank details and viewing your R350 grant status.
If you require assistance with your SRD grant appeal, you will need to contact the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals as they are responsible for appeals, not Sassa.
The Tribunal can be reached by calling 012 312 7727 or sending an email to grantappeals@dsd.gov.za
You can also find Sassa through their various social media channels.
