The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) provides temporary financial relief to individuals who have lost their income due to several different circumstances. These circumstances include loss of income due to unemployment, illness leave, parental leave, adoption leave, reduced work time and maternity leave.

Normally, UIF beneficiaries who receive benefits every month are required to complete the UI.6A form or Payment of Continuation to confirm that they are still unemployed and therefore should continue receiving the benefits.

The UIF USSD code simplifies the process of submitting a payment continuation request. Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Dial 134843# and select option '4'.
Step 2: Enter your ID number.
Step 3: Indicate if you have a PIN or select "forgot pin" if you don't have one.
Step 4: Enter your PIN.
Step 5: Select your benefit type.
Step 6: Confirm your employment status.
Step 7: Indicate if you have returned to work.
Step 8: Enter any additional required information and submit.
Using The UIF Mobile Application
For those who prefer a mobile app experience, the UIF offers a dedicated mobile app, available on both the App Store and Google Play.
